Cookie Policy
Last updated October 10, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Ask My Glucose LLC ("we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on askmyglucose.com. In short: we use only the cookies needed to sign you in, keep your account secure, and remember the settings you choose. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising of any kind.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files a website stores on your device. "First-party" cookies are set by the site you are visiting; "third-party" cookies are set by another company's service used on that site. Browsers also offer similar "local storage", which we use for two display settings described below.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary (sign-in and security)
These keep you signed in and protect your account. The Services cannot work without them, so they cannot be switched off. They are set by our sign-in provider, Clerk, on askmyglucose.com and its sign-in subdomain.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| __session | Proves you are signed in (short-lived, renewed automatically) | About 1 minute |
| __client_uat | Records when you last signed in, so the site knows whether to check your session | Up to 10 years, or until you sign out |
| __client and other __clerk_* cookies | Keep your sign-in secure and handle sign-in redirects | Session to about 1 year |
| __cf_bm, _cfuvid | Bot and abuse protection on the sign-in service (set by Cloudflare for Clerk) | Up to 30 minutes, or the browser session |
Preferences (set only when you choose them)
| Cookie or storage item | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| amg_lang (cookie) | Remembers the language you picked | 1 year |
| amg_unit (cookie) | Remembers mg/dL or mmol/L on the demo page (signed-in users' choice is saved to their account) | 1 year |
| Graph time window (local storage) | Remembers how many hours your glucose graph shows | Until you clear it |
| Night mode (local storage) | Remembers whether you turned on the dimmed night theme | Until you clear it |
Payments
When you subscribe, you complete payment on Stripe's secure checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies there for fraud prevention, under Stripe's cookie policy. Those cookies are not placed on askmyglucose.com.
What we don't use
No advertising or targeting cookies, no analytics or tracking services, no social media trackers, and no web beacons or tracking pixels on our website. We do not sell or share browsing information.
How can I control cookies?
Because we use only strictly necessary and preference cookies, there is no cookie banner to manage. You can still block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block the sign-in cookies, you will not be able to sign in. To clear the two display settings, clear this site's data in your browser. Browser help pages: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge.
Updates to this policy
If the cookies we use change, we will update this policy and its "Last updated" date. See also our Privacy Policy.
