1. What information do we collect?

Personal information you disclose to us

In short: we collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you provide when you register for the Services, link a sensor, add someone you care for, or contact us. This may include:

Sensitive information. With your explicit consent, we process health data: glucose readings, their trend and time, and your sensor model. If you add a person you care for to your household, we process their glucose readings, received through your LibreLinkUp account, on your confirmation that they (or their parent or guardian) have agreed.

Payment data. If you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. Card numbers and billing details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us. See Stripe's privacy notice.

Social login data. You can sign in with your Google account. If you do, we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address, as described in section 5.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes.

Information automatically collected

In short: some information, such as your IP address and browser details, and a record of your voice requests, is collected automatically.

Information from other sources

In short: we receive information only from the services you connect.

When you link a sensor, we receive your glucose readings from Abbott (LibreLinkUp) or Dexcom (Dexcom Share). When you use Alexa or Siri, Amazon or Apple sends us your request as text. Amazon, Apple, Abbott, and Dexcom are independent companies with their own privacy policies. We do not obtain information from data brokers, marketing partners, or social media platforms.

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2. How do we process your information?

In short: we process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, keep the Services secure, and comply with law. We may also process it for other purposes with your consent.

3. When and with whom do we share your personal information?

In short: only with the service providers that run the Services for us, and with voice platforms at your direction.

We use the following service providers ("processors"), under written contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only on our instructions:

ProviderWhat they do for usLocation
VultrHosts our servers and databaseUnited States
CloudflareDomain name service, email routing, and sending service emailsGlobal network
ClerkAccount sign-in and authenticationUnited States
StripePayments and subscriptionsUnited States and other locations
GoogleOur support mailboxUnited States and other locations

Voice platforms, at your direction. When you ask Alexa or Siri for a reading, we send the spoken answer back to Amazon or Apple so it can be read to you.

Your household. If you are a member of a family plan, the plan owner can hear your readings through "how is everyone" and see your name in their household list. If someone adds you as a person they care for, they can see and hear your readings.

Business transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with a merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or part of our business.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

4. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?

In short: we use only cookies needed to run the Services and remember your settings.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect your account, and remember preferences such as your language and glucose units. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not allow third parties to place tracking or advertising technologies on our Services. See our Cookie Notice for details.

5. How do we handle social logins?

In short: if you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information.

You can sign in with your Google account. When you do, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this information only to create and secure your account. We do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your information by Google; please review Google's privacy policy.

6. How long do we keep your information?

In short: no longer than needed, and glucose readings for at most 90 days.

When you delete your account, we delete your personal information, except records we must keep by law. Information remaining in backups is isolated from further use and deleted when the backup expires.

7. How do we keep your information safe?

In short: we protect your personal information with organizational and technical safeguards.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information we process. Sensor-sharing logins are encrypted (AES-256) and never shown again after setup; connections to our Services are encrypted in transit; access to our systems requires two-factor authentication. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet or storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorized third parties will never defeat our security. You should access the Services only within a secure environment.

8. Do we collect information from minors?

In short: we do not knowingly collect data from or market to children without a parent or guardian.

We do not knowingly collect data from, or market to, children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of a minor and consent to that minor's use of the Services, including adding the minor's readings to your household. In the EU, EEA and UK, a parent or guardian must give consent for users under the digital age of consent in their country (13 to 16). If you become aware of data we may have collected from a child without such consent, please contact us at support@askmyglucose.com.

9. What are your privacy rights?

In short: you may review, change, or delete your information, and withdraw consent, at any time.

Withdrawing your consent. You can withdraw your consent to our processing of your health data at any time by disconnecting your sensor on your dashboard or deleting your account, or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.

Account information. You can review or change your account information, or delete your account, from your dashboard, or by contacting us. When you delete your account, we delete your information from our active databases, except records we must keep by law.

Cookies. Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can set your browser to remove or reject cookies, but the Services need sign-in cookies to work.

If you have questions about your privacy rights, email us at support@askmyglucose.com.

10. Controls for Do-Not-Track features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") setting. No uniform technology standard for recognizing DNT signals has been finalized, so we do not currently respond to DNT signals. Because we do not track you across websites or use advertising technologies, this has no practical effect on our Services. California law requires us to tell you how we respond to DNT signals.

11. Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?

In short: if you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington, you may have the right to access, correct, copy, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent.
